Buck Mountain Experimental Station was a 20-acre off-the-grid homestead in Northern California from 2006 – 2012. BMES was the main homestead site featured in the bulk of the How-to Homestead project and film series, and also hosted an artist in residence program, university classes, and WWOOFers (Willing Workers on Organic Farms) from around the world. Buck Mountain Experimental Station was a hub of off-the-grid creativity.
